Bolognese Sauce

This is a sauce that originated from Bologna in Italy, it’s a very quick Italian cuisine eaten with spaghetti and made with a tomato sauce and minced meat and topped with cheese, enjoy!

Spaghetti Bolognese


Ingredients.

  • Olive oil
  • Minced meat
  • Onions chopped
  • Garlic chopped
  • Tomatoes diced
  • Tomato purée
  • Carrots chopped
  • Green beans chopped
  • Parsley for garnish
  • Salt
  • Chili flakes
  • Stock cube
  • Red wine
  • Cheese

Method.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium heat.
  • Add minced meat and stir to break up lumps on medium-high heat until brown.
  • Remove minced from skillet and place aside.
  • Add teaspoon of oil and heat, add chopped onions and garlic and stir till onions are golden.
  • Transfer cooked minced meat and vegetable to onions and garlic and stir.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, stock cube, tomato purée and red wine and season well, bring to a simmer for about 45 minutes or until sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and serve with spaghetti, sprinkle with grated cheese and garnish with parsley.
  • Enjoy!
