This is a very delicious and quick dish to make, it’s creamy, cheesy and topped with bacon and breadcrumbs.
Kojo’s Mac and Cheese
Ingredients.
- Bacon laden
- Breadcrumbs
- Macaroni
- Butter
- Flour
- Milk
- Salt & Pepper
- Parmesan cheese
- Cheddar cheese
- Leicester cheese
Method.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large pot bring water to a boil.
- Add macaroni and cook till soft and strain.
- In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat for 5-8 minutes until it turns golden.
- Add breadcrumbs to bacon and stir well and remove from heat and set aside.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add flour to butter and whisk for about a minute.
- Add salt and butter to taste.
- Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
- Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low for 5 minutes, whisking occasionally until thick.
- Add grated cheeses and cook for a few minutes until all the cheeses have melted.
- Add macaroni to the sauce and stir until well coated.
- Pour macaroni into a large baking dish and sprinkle bacon and breadcrumb mixture on top.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve with a salad and garlic bread.
